Energy Efficiency and Conservation Department under the directorate of Industrial Collaboration, Ministry of Industry is implementing the Energy Efficiency and Conservation (EE&C) activities in all sectors in Myanmar and created the energy efficiency and conservation website. That website includes not only the activities of the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Department, but also in mainly, the energy performance standard and energy star rating of home appliances such as air conditioner, lighting, refrigerator and electric motor that are manufactured/ imported to the Myanmar, online product registration system and the steps of registration method. In order to share the awareness and knowledge of the website and registration system to the public, the launching ceremony was conducted in the meeting room of Ministry of Industry, office number (30), Nay Pyi Taw on 9th November 2023. Ministry of Industry Union Minister Dr. Charlie Than, Deputy Minister U Rin Maung Nyunt; Director Generals, Managing Directors, Deputy Director Generals Directors of Ministries; and officials from the Ministry of Industry were attended in person and participants from relevant organizations were attended in virtual.

At the ceremony, the Director General for the Department of Industrial Collaboration shared the current situation of energy efficiency and conservation activities implementation in Myanmar. The Director of the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Department presented responsible for energy efficient use and conservation of the website and the implementation of the energy efficiency labeling and labeling system of products and the Deputy Director of the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Department submitted how to apply the online product registration system. Afterwards, attendees discussed incentive scheme, cooperation with relevant ministries and asked what want to know regarding standard and labeling system, and officials from relevant department explained in details. Then, the attendees agreed to launch the energy efficiency and conservation website.

After that, the Union Minister gave his closing speech and it was reported that the ceremony was concluded.
